What products are you specialists in?

What badge shapes and sizes are available?

All of our badges are custom made, so we can make your badge in any shape or size that you wish! If you need help deciding, our team of experts can help you determine the optimal shape and size for your bespoke badge.

What materials can I choose from?

We offer a wide range of materials to choose from to fit your specific needs and budget. Our badges can be made from plastic, aluminum, rubber, copper, brass, nickel or gilt and then plated with a wide range of finish colours. If you’re unsure of what material would best suit your badge, let our team of experts help you decide. We can advise you accordingly to what would work best for your design.

What’s the difference between the various types of badges?

Our badges come in an almost limitless variety of styles and designs – however, there’s a few types of badges that tend to be the most popular. Among our top-selling badge types is enamel. Enamel badges are typically brass-stamped and come in a variety of qualities and finishes. They are a favourite among artists, retailers and marketers because of their cost-effectiveness and versatility. Die stamp with oxidisation, raised metal polished has to be one of the most elegant finishes on the market.

Another popular badge type is our custom-shaped, offset printed badges, which are manufactured from robust metal and plated with finished brass or nickel. These badges are ideal if you’re looking for total accuracy in the reproduction of your design.

What’s the difference between soft and hard enamel?

Simply put, soft enamel badges are your traditional pin badge. They are stamped onto long-lasting copper or brass and can be plated in nickel (silver), gilt (gold) or black nickel. Soft enamel badges make use of raised lines and recessed enamel, which give them ridges that you can feel when you run your fingers over the top. Despite their name, they are still hard to the touch and lend a polished look to any campaign.

Alternatively, hard enamel badges have a flat design and are highly polished and smooth to the touch. Rather than sitting below the metal line, enamel is layered up and then polished back down to the same level. The result is a flat, smooth surface. Hard enamel badges are Brass-stamped through a traditional high-temperature firing process and use a bespoke, made-to-order die stamp that needs to be produced before production begins.

What type of plating and finishes do you offer?

We offer a variety of plating and finishes to give your badge a distinctive edge. Choose from a range of shiny, misty, antique or other finishes, in brass, copper, gold, gun black, nickel and more.

Can I choose my own attachment?

Yes, we offer a wide range of badge attachments to choose from, including brooch, butterfly clutch and magnet. We’re always happy to advise you on the best option for your bespoke badge.

What packaging options do you offer?

When it comes to packaging – the sky’s the limit! We can help you come up with some creative packaging ideas and designs to add an extra bit of value to your custom badges, lapel pins, medals, tie bars, cufflinks or keyrings. Some of our more popular options include custom backing cards, presentation boxes, and swing tags.

Artwork

What do I need to supply in terms of artwork for my badge?

If you have your own artwork that you can send over, that’s brilliant. Or if you have an existing badge you’d like to copy, you can send us over some images and we’ll redraw your artwork for you. Otherwise, our in-house design team can work with you to come up with a custom design for your badge based from some examples you have seen – totally free of charge. Either way, we’ll work closely with you to optimise the effectiveness of your designs and fine tune each design option until you’re 100% happy with it.

What file types do you accept?

Our preferred option is an editable Adobe Illustrator .eps or .ai file, with all fonts converted to outlines and with all colours identified by their relevant Pantone reference, if appropriate. However, it really doesn’t matter what format your artwork is in, as we’re pretty flexible here at Rocket Badge. We also accept files in the following formats: .psd, .tiff, .bmp, .jpg, .gif, .pdf, .ps, .prn, .doc, and .qxd.

Don’t worry if you don’t have any of the file formats above. Just email your account manager whatever you have, and our in-house design studio can transform it into workable artwork.

Can you match my exact colours?

Yes, if you provide us with Pantone references, we can accurately match your Pantone colours on your badge. If you’re not using Pantone colours, don’t worry; we can also reproduce your colours using the standard, four-colour CMYK process.

Will I be able to approve my badge design before you produce them?

Of course! Before sending your badges to production, we’ll email you an artwork approval form, which you’ll need to sign off on before production can commence. Unfortunately, we’re unable to accept any liability for errors once a job has been approved – so be sure to check your artwork carefully.

Can you produce multiple design variations in a single order?

Yes, we can! Depending on your selected promotional badge, however, we may be required to create a new mold for each design. If this is the case, we’ll let you know ahead of time and advise you of any additional charges required.

If you simply want to change the plating or enamel colours from the same die stamp, then we can achieve this at a very low cost – or sometimes even free of charge, depending on the artwork you require!
